Irving Penn, fashion photographer great, passed yesterday after a long life being profoundly excellent at what he did and loving the same woman for 42 years. This NYT article is much more specific and in-depth, but I just wanted to take a moment to celebrate a person so responsible for morphing fashion iconography from decade to decade.
